Occasionally while journaling, Someone Else starts writing with my pen. I have put those Love Letters from the Universe on this page.
Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope.

That, on the whole, is a poor argument for seeking God’s Will, that somehow we do God’s Will by default because of a lack of clarity or abundance of confusion. Yet in the big picture, that is often what we do.

When the best of our plans and dreams dwindle into dust, we lift up our eyes for help and guidance, and sometimes only then avail ourselves to the great Remedy that exists in full measure, eternally and endlessly. How is it that we change our mindset to accommodate this truth? Perhaps by beginning each day in silent thought, meditation, the reading of a gentle inspiration or affirmation. We change our mindset by opening ourselves to the God Who Is, allowing that Spirit to permeate our hearts and minds without reservation.

When immersed in the Spirit, one feels at peace and in concert with nature, with the natural order of events and their consequent resolution. The squawking of human-made concerns and anxieties fade into a minor irritation, a buzzing at the shoulder that is no more significant than a persistent fly. It is our tendency to endow this fly with the power of an eagle that keeps us in fear and indecision.

God’s Will for us can only manifest in His good time, by that I mean when proper and optimum circumstances prevail. A launch in inclement weather is sure to be difficult and at best uncomfortable. A mission scrubbed on behalf of the best for its passengers is no failure, but rather a kind consideration for the ultimate welfare of all. So do not take responsibility for that which is being managed for you, perhaps in your behalf. God redeems us all with His mercy, and those who walk in the Light of His beacon will find themselves on a glittering shore, at the edge of the Water of Life.

It is easy for those of poor self-esteem to fasten like a leech upon that or upon whoever offers the least bit of affirmation. As Emmet Fox says, do not limit yourself to the diamonds of yellow clay, but press on to the rich blue clay and beyond, to “the sublime fact that beneath the blue clay there are more and still more and richer strata, awaiting the touch of spiritual perception--on and on to infinity.”

When by self-will we forcibly hold together the fragments of our broken shell, we resist God’s attempt to reach and heal us. It is only by admitting powerlessness and by the act of letting go that God’s miracle of healing can begin. At that point, we are faced with the process of recovery. But we are human; eventually impatience overtakes us. We tire of recuperation in almost every form. That impatience is natural and normal; the healthy individual yearns for wholeness.

On the other hand, it is imperative that, to effect optimum healing, we test our limits. This may indeed be painful, and it is not uncommon for us at this point to confuse the pain of healing with the pain of disease. Here we seek the counsel and comfort of The Great Physician, who encourages us to continue our therapy, no matter how mundane or uncomfortable, because that is the path to recovery. The reward is subtle; we do not regain freedom of movement in great bursts, but in a slow, gradual, sometimes uneven improvement in strength and stamina.

Catch all you can. Happiness is within your reach. Open to Spirit your heart. Bless the nature of children. Wipe your eyes from tears that flow. Open heart sadness will come but outward flow. Keep to thy teaching of serenity and passive recipience. Work toward the Light fulfilling. Nature’s dreams of tomorrow will be yours. Heartache keeps you ill -- free your body of poison of soul -- rejoice in joyful things all around you like laughter of children -- peace comes to those who wait upon it -- I will write to you often. I bring good cheer. Keep journaling -- it is the best way to open your heart and mind. When you allow the pen to follow the strokes that I dictate you can receive my encouragement. Who am I? I am your Higher Power Source. I want for you what you need to be content in this life. Careful -- personal grievances creep in, do not let them occupy your space. Work the Spirit. Find the way back through careful prayer and meditation. There are many here who will assault your senses and distract you from your work. That part of your brain that belongs to the physical, the addict, will overcome you unless you develop the strength to stay attuned to my message. Yes, shorthand would be faster indeed but you must not deviate from your intention here. It is okay to skip a word but get everything I say--

You are worthy because you hold the Light so dear. It is the message I give to all. You hear it because you listen. You are special only in your desire to know it. It is a gift that is given to those who seek it. Bear up under this weight, it is old and you have no need of it. You can lay this burden down at any time. You must understand the meaning of special. You are chosen through no merit of your own. God made you. That is your specialness. But God made us all, so we are all special. But chosen is different. You are chosen because you seek. It is the verse you read, seek and you shall find. Whatever you seek, you will find by looking. But to look one must first be able to see. Open your eyes from the inside. Look inward to your heart. Heal the bad places in your heart and there will be more room for growth of Spirit. Heart open.

Back to the heart. The heart is the one who is blocked. Open the heart and you are free to receive all -- how? Let your mind travel across great distance to the void that exists within -- great distance into space of your mind -- the part you have cut off from yourself. You can heart open by practicing on those whose presence you dread. Get into quiet simple conversation and just listen. No need to convert, be patient, listening. Be kind no matter what they say. This is not about you. It is about them and how they feel. Open your heart, open your ears. Take yourself out of the process -- be a listener. Your journey is separate from theirs. They are looking, too. Your pathway will not suit them, they must find their own way.

Simplify your life. Do not take on more, but amplify that which you already have. It is natural to be concerned about everyday accountability to others. Proceed as you would under ordinary circumstances. Remember you have been given a great gift -- the power to achieve your heart's desire. Heart open.

You are special. Those whose opinions truly matter affirm and acknowledge you. The only way to forget those who have embarassed or humiliated you is to forgive them. Release the anger you feel -- you have been angry at them too long. In some way you have wronged every single one. Here is a prime example of your self-will run riot. You thought you could run the whole show and be its star. Tough to be producer and player and do either job well. Only seasoned pros even attempt it, and few succeed. A good writer needs a better writer for an editor. You need God to help you determine right actions and right thinking, and you can eliminate such situations as those in your past.

So let go the anger, forgive yourself and forgive those people, for goodness sake, and treat the incident in your life as a reminder of how you used to be. That is not the person you are today. But you were tough to crack, and it took an incident of utter humiliation and over 25 years to get your attention. So give it up. You've spent way too much time hurting over this one little 20-minute memory. You've given it way more power than it deserves. So reshape that power to work in your behalf instead of against you. Start using some of that great gift you were given.

Know that you are loved and that we deal with you in all abundant affection and kindness. We are stern with you because you resist a softer suggestion. Know that behind the stern parental voice rests a vast wish for your happiness and contentment. There are many of us here who are cheering you on, and your small victories are not unseen. Cherish your life. You stand for something good in this world of many unhappy people, and you provide a keyhole of light for those who choose to look for it. For now, focus on your own access to the Light, and remember that you are a channel to that Light. Keep your way clear of obstacles, such as memories that fill you with pain. You have the ability to transmute that pain into acceptance and peace if you so choose. And you must heal your own pain before you can devote yourself to helping to heal the pain in others.

everyone has their own set of fears, heartaches, slippery places. this has very little or nothing to do with you. we’re in this to heal ourselves. allow yourself to be healed; allow others to heal themselves. don’t try to question the entire universe all at once. keep an open mind, more will be revealed. live your life and take no prisoners.

know that you are loved, you are not alone. we are as close as your next breath. take comfort in knowing that you stand for something good in this world. at times when that seems not enough, be patient. someone will show up to affirm that in you. look in the mirror, is darkness obscuring your light? step into the pathway you know to be true. breathe deeply of yourself and of your knowing. the fear that you examine so closely is not worthy of your time. you know all you will ever need to know about fear. use your time instead to examine the wonder of God as you know them, to examine the wonder of how as humans you are even capable of such a thing as love. cherish the moments in which you connect with another’s soul. those are what last, those are what heal. those are what you truly need, not another’s body, not another’s devotion. you need the connectedness that comes when spirits recognize and embrace one another. and that is what you seek, truly.

the flesh is highly developed to interrogate and interpret the flesh of another human body. but the art and loving touch it requires to receive and absorb the love of another is a delicate matter indeed. if you go stomping in, grabbing stuff off the shelves, you will miss the tiny treasures that have been pushed to the back. so stay quiet in yourself, keep your mind on your responsibilities and accountabilities, remember that you have a purpose here that is higher and greater than just getting through the day by the skin of your teeth. you must heal, you must stretch your imagination to find the keys that unlock all the secrets you hold inside. no one else is capable of handing those keys to you, for they are yours alone, and the trust here is between you and your Higher Power.

My purpose is beginning to unfold. I am heartened by the knowledge that, by walking into the darkness and taking the hand of God, I have measured a path that no human hand could ever have shown me. I can trust myself in the dark.

I am happy here in the quiet night of my soul, awaiting the next guidance and direction. While I wait, I can imagine the warm night breeze and the brilliant stars that lay smiling behind the clouds. It is lovely here, in the stillness, bathing in the love of the Divine. And I am not alone.

open childlike person, care for yourself. You are the precious gift God gave to you, welcome with open arms. Embrace all of yourself, the treasures that you seek in this life are within you, rich and beautiful. Hold these close, no other person can give you the joy that you yourself can birth. Open up to the Light, let the Light go deeply into your Heart of all Hearts, you will be healed. You are safe, you are protected, you are cherished. It is the loving you feel, it comes from everything around you but centers in yourself.

courage further fires the inside space when flooded close to another. search further for the opening of the heart. within you lies completed work, ready to uncover. let it flow into your life, your art, your love and loves. create harmony wherever possible. within you lies the understanding for a multitude of pleasures, not only of this world but that outside it. courage to find your way (do not resist) alone, as an individual like no other, affirm yourself. draw on your inner spaces for insight and inspiration. carefully mend the torn corners and edges. embrace your wounded heart and know that it heals; as it does so, watch your wings begin to unfold and lift you onto the gentlest of breezes. courage to rise above self, courage to rise above the confines of earth and its boundaries. care with great tenderness for the one you call the lover. he rises like a curl of smoke, like a feather from a great-winged bird. his vision is matchless, his concerns are great. they will be remediated in time. go always forward, each day new, the journey is just beginning. your step will be strong and your heart light and open. accept the pain as it arrives, it will be brief. you may be surprised to see how quickly you heal if you do not give in to sadness. your joy is complete within you. free up all empty space for it to grow in abundant manner. cherish your life and those around you. you are blessed and perfect.
